Mount Control Overview:
The mount is the most dominant position in a fight but it won't work if you can't stay there. As soon as you get the mount your opponent will do everything they can to get you off of them. You need to master the art of controlling and exhausting a bigger opponent from the mount. If you don't master these moves it is unlikely that you will ever be able to hold a larger, stronger down from the mount.
Grapevines, Hip Pressure, & Wrap and Post:
- 1Hip Pressure: Get low, insert grapevines, and press your hips DOWN. You should be low and wide. Grapevine the legs to anchor your lower body. This is more of a holding position than an attacking position.
- 2Superman Drill: Get this position and take hands and knees off of the floor with arms outstretched. Demonstrates all weight is on the BG.
- 3Wrap and Post: From here, BG pushes you to the side, wrap your arm around his head and base out.
